Forgive me for my mistake of trying to write a story

A boy walks back from school with a Mickey Mouse school bag on his shoulders and lunch basket in one hand thinking just about one thing: What is mummy preparing for the evening snacks???? Well, what else you expect of an 8year old boy just in his 3rd standard!

Sitting on the sofa in front of the TV with a plate of yummy Maggie watching his favorite Popeye in CN, Vijay, calls up loud to his mom in the kitchen: “Mummieee… come here na…”

Mom comes with a glass of hot bornvita and sits besides him to listen to his usual narration of the day’s happenings at school.

“Mummy, today-na Kanchan miss told us about going for an excus… (he could hardly spell that) to Mahabalipuram next week” Mom understood and asked him back about the cost. Vijay – “200 rupees mom, its there in my Hand Book. And mummy, Shalu said she’ll surely be going and she's paying the money tomorrow itself. I too want to pay the money tomorrow”

Mom had a listened a lot of Shalini (Shalu) in the past two months, when Vijay’s 3rd class started. Shalini was a newcomer to Vijay’s class and they have become friends just in a week’s time. Mom was yet to meet Shalini, she knew most of Vijay’s classmates, who were all boys. So far, Vijay never spoke about girls nor did he ever have a girl friend ;)

Vijay was too shy to talk to girls, he himself has expressed this to his mom but Shalu was an exception now. In these two months of their friendship, mom has learnt many things about Shalu-Shalini. Shalu’s dad is an army officer and they lived in Delhi before moving to Chennai. Shalu’s mom is a house wife but teaches bharatnatyam at home. Shalu too is a good dancer. Shalu has a small brother Nikki-Nikhil, just two years old and Shalu likes him a lot.

Mom thought on what all topic these children converse. Shalu’s favorite actor was Rajini as is Vijay’s. Shalu likes Tom & Jerry but Vijay loves Popeye. They share so many things between them in this young age along with their lunch.

The next day: “Mummy, do you know to prepare Aloo Paratha???” Vijay shouted to mom on entering home from school that evening.
Mom: “Why da?”
Vijay: “Mummy, I’m bored of all your curd n sambar rice…”
Mom: “Where did you taste Aloo paratha from???” asked, knowing the obvious “Shalu brought it mom” – Vijay’s reply.
Mom was really curious to meet her son’s new and first girl friend – Shalu

“Vijay… Have ur breakfast…its ready…” mom called out from kitchen listening to Vijay starting his bike at the gate. “It’s okay mom… I’m already late for my E-Mech class” Vijay flies off in his bike. Vijay scored all distinctions to get himself a engineering seat in Anna University. It’s just been three months now. Mom was more relaxed now, finding her son studying in the top university of the state. She was more worried, when he was at his school. Though Vijay was brilliant and studious, 12th was always a nightmare for most of the parents.

Even now Vijay discusses about the daily happenings to mom. Vijay now speaks much about Divya, “cutest girl in the class” - as everyone in the class describes her. Vijay also told her mother for some unknown reason, he doesn’t like her. But mom thought otherwise and she had a reason too. Divya was only the second girl, whom Vijay spoke often to her. The first one was his 3rd classmate Shalu. Though he also has talked about few other girls like the ‘very beautiful’ Vidya (10th classmate) and the ‘gorgeous’ Swetha (12th classmate), they hardly last for a month or so. There has been no daily updates on them and faded only in a month.

“Mom, Divya wants to meet you, shall I bring her home tomorrow evening?” enquired Vijay. Mom too was eager to meet Divya, as it took three years for Vijay to change his view on Divya. Both are in the Final Year and were the closest of friends. They have got themselves a software job in different companies. As every mom would like to know whether her son had a relationship with someone, Vijay’s mom too was curious. She had spoken many a times to Divya but never had a chance to meet her. So when Vijay asked her about bringing home Divya, she immediately accepted it by responding “sure, you don’t have to ask permission Vijay”

Vijay dialed his home number, to hear his mom pick up and say “Hallo”. “Mom, I’m in Holy Angels Hospital right now. Doctor asked to admit Maha immediately as the delivery would happen anytime. Call up dad and be here” – Vijay sounded nervous. Vijay is now a Project Manager in reputed Software Company. Got married just a year back to Maha – Mahalakshmi. Mom called up Vijay’s dad and he came down to pick her up from home to see their first grand child. Vijay’s mom liked girl babies a lot as she had only one son. She showed all love she stored in for her daughter to her daughter-in-law, Maha. Maha was a colleague of Vijay, it was love cum arranged marriage. Vijay’s Mom wished she had a grand daughter. Mom and Dad arrived to the hospital right in time. As Vijay was too tensed, to relax the mood the to be grandfather asked the to be father “Vijay, Son or a Daughter???”
Vijay- “Any baby is fine dad (smiles). What do you think mom?”
Mom – “I’m sure that it’s gonna be a girl”
Dad – “How can you be so sure?? I say it’s a grandson”
Vijay – “Dad, if it’s a baby boy you’ll choose his name and if it’s a baby girl mom will”

Just then the doctor came out to congratulate Vijay on being a father of “Twins”… Yes, two beautiful little angels.
Vijay – “Mom, you’ll have to decide on two names now… ”
Mom – “I already have two names in mind”
Vijay – “that is quick, what are they???”

Mom – “ Shalini & Divya”

(Vijay’s Mom always wanted to meet her son’s girl friends Shalini and Divya. She came so close to meeting them but she didn’t.)

One Page Story

Shooting is almost over but for the climax is yet to be fixed. Director Adarsh has a reputation of making audience go crazy by his wonderful climax scenes. This time it’s a comedy that he’s directing, but the climax involves action and hence is confused to provide a climax with action mixed comedy.

In a hotel room gathered the group of - director, assistant directors, stunt master and his assistants to discuss on the climax of the film. One of Adarsh’s assistants suggests an idea, which stuck to him accidentally on seeing a new car park outside the hotel. Everyone listens to him as he speaks…“Climax will have a car chase. Villain tries to escape from hero and gets on to a new car parked outside the temple for Puja, with a rose garland in its front portion. He steals it and the car chase begins, to end up in an accident. Villain is thrown out of the car through the front mirror along with the garland on the front of the car. Villain falls to the ground and the garland falls over his neck symbolically telling the viewers of his death”.

Adarsh was pretty much ok with this and stunt master had asked Dharan, one of his best assistants around to do the stunts. It was all set to shoot the climax; Dharan was the dupe for the villain and was in the new ambassador. Everything went well until, Dharan fell out of the car dashing the mirror as fate would have it he landed on his spinal cord to suffer a fatal damage and was taken to the hospital to be declared dead.

A month after the movie got released. Everyone was happy about the outcome of the movie. Adarsh overheard two friends coming out of the movie discussing about it: Man, Adarsh is too good in setting the climax, though it’s a death of person, by making the garland fall over him, he made it so comical that everyone laughed at it instead of worrying about the death. The other - Hey who’s dead, the villain is not dead man, its all cinema. It’s Reel not Real.

Adarsh couldn’t console himself as that scene really cost a life and everyone is laughing at it (as expected) but for Dharan’s family.

The Truth

Is my male dominant world changing????? “Yes” is the sad answer. Where is it heading towards???? To a much balanced world with no bias on sex- I wonder if this is possible. World can never be balanced, after all humans are animals too (species) and as nature says one species has to dominate other. So what is gonna happen???? – The obvious question. Is it going to be female dominant one? – “Soon” yet another hard to believe truth.

The statements made above might look very odd and seem like they are said with no base. “Baseless statements” – termed by few of my well-educated, cultured and rational male (species) friends. They are cultured and rational because they feel male (species) had dominated female (species) and its high time to give them EQUAL RIGHTS.

Here are few “Bases” to the statements I made earlier. As we all know, earth evolved from unicellular to multicellular species. There’s always been domination by the fittest species. Things change – Survival of the Fittest. Mighty Dinosaurs are no more today. But they did dominate/rule the world. When humans came in to the world, there too was two kinds of species – Male n Female. As nature always does, males were exact complement to female. Then how did male gain the dominance???? It’s not just that male outnumbered female, various factors right from the physical strength to mental strength. Many of my opposite species will not agree to it especially mental strength. But that is the fact. Else, the world would have been the other way around. To put it in much better way and also to convince my complement species. Women were the one who dominated the world first. Mother land and mother tongue are few terms which still remain as the proof of it. Worship of Female goddess was dominant as history says. Take Hindu myth, all gods were supposed to be from the prime female goddess “Adhi Parasakthi”. What exactly is this “Adhi Parasakthi” – Wondering???? Sanskrit has the answer. Adhi – The First, Para – The Ultimate and Sakthi – Power, which combines to The First Ultimate Power. If you ask me it’s neither male nor female its just power. But, as this power was termed in a Female Dominant world it was assumed FEMALE. For Christianity followers, “Da Vinci Code” has many evidence of female worship. How did it all change then? - Take a break, let me think.

Actually no thinking needed, the answer is straight forward. As females are struggling today (to regain) for dominance, male also did. And finally they conquered. That’s when world changed. All male GODS were born. Have you ever wondered why Lord Siva had only male child and not a female???? Keep wondering. From Jesus to Prophet – Males. That’s how we came to power. But what’s happening now - We are slowly losing our regime.

NO- we are just giving them equal rights which we denied them to show our dominance. We are not letting them dominate us we are just waiting for them to come up equal – are the justification given by the rational and cultural males. It’s just the story of hare and the tortoise. Hare leads the race and just waits for tortoise thinking it can never cross him but before even it knew, tortoise will be in lead. That’s what is going to happen – it’s natural. There were few men in male dominant society trying to spread female domination, the Da Vinci himself. There will be males in the female dominant society too who’ll take forward the male domination and hope we bring it back again! ~ A Male Chauvinist.
